The Fall: Gender Textual Analysis

Although I completed this as part of my study of the representation of gender for my AS exam, it is relevant to the my coursework as, in planning for this, I will need to consider how the representation of gender is constructed through the use of camera shots, mise-en-scene, editing and sound. This will hopefully enable me to represent characters in a variety of different ways in my film opening.

Preliminary Task Evaluation- written

These are some photos taken during the production stage of our Preliminary Task, photos of the area we used, and how we managed to create the first scene to a good standard.

During post- production we decided to make a storyboard this is so when we came to filming our Preliminary task it was much easier as we had all the scenes planned out, however, even though a plan was made it wasn't stuck to for every scene and this was due to the realisation of potential continuity errors if this scene was shot.  For example the ring scene was missed out due to Lauren not wearing rings from the beginning.  Below is photos from the storyboard:

Before we started filming our Preliminary Task we decided to practice some basic camera shots with the DSLR camera, to ensure the quality of our final production was at a high level.  The camera shots included: Low angle shot, Two- shot, Long shot and Over the shoulder shot.
